We build few buildings, exceptionally well.
BILLA is an owner-led studio of architects, developers and advisors. We accept a limited number of commissions each year so that every project receives the attention of the partners who signed it.
Our work is defined by material honesty — stone, oak, glass and daylight — and by an obsession with the details most people notice only subconsciously.
Story
A timeline of quiet growth.
- 1994 — Founded in Amsterdam as a two-person architectural practice.
- 2003 — First full development delivered on the Herengracht canal ring.
- 2011 — Vienna office opens; the studio expands into interior architecture.
- 2018 — Private advisory division formed for long-term owners.
- 2026 — 180 residences delivered across three European cities.
